The Pre-Sales Engineer is responsible for collaborating with the sales team to understand customer requirements, provide technical guidance, and demonstrate how our software solutions, including security, observability, search engine, and API Management, can address those needs. This role involves articulating complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner, both to technical and non-technical stakeholders, to drive sales opportunities.

Job Responsibilities
- Solution Understanding: Develop a deep understanding of the software solutions offered by the company, such as Elasticsearch and APIM, including their features, benefits, and use cases.
- Customer Engagement: Work closely with potential and existing customers to gather technical requirements and pain points, and establish rapport with technical decision-makers.
- Custom Solution Design: Collaborate with the customer and product teams to design tailored software solutions that address specific customer needs and challenges.
- Technical Presentations: Deliver compelling technical presentations and product demonstrations to showcase how our solutions can solve customer problems.
- Proof of Concept (PoC): Coordinate and execute PoCs, where applicable, to validate the effectiveness of our solutions in the customer's environment.
- Technical Documentation: Assist in creating and maintaining technical documentation, including proposals, RFP/RFI responses, and solution architecture diagrams.
- Competitive Analysis: Stay informed about the competitive landscape and provide insights on the strengths and weaknesses of our software solutions compared to competitors.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the sales team to understand sales strategies and objectives, and provide technical support throughout the sales cycle.
- Feedback Loop: Relay customer feedback and requirements to the product development team for continuous improvement and feature enhancements.
- Technical Training: Conduct internal and external training sessions to ensure the sales team and customers are well-versed in the technical aspects of our software solutions.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Strong technical expertise in software solutions, with a focus on Elasticsearch, APIM, and related technologies.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven experience in a pre-sales or technical consulting role within the software industry.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to tailor solutions to meet customer requirements.
- Familiarity with sales and CRM tools, such as Salesforce, is a plus.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to travel as needed to meet with customers.
